CONNECTING GENERATIONS – SUCCEEDING DIALOGUES

In the moment of a successful dialogue we experience that we are alive, experience ourselves in our creativity and generativity. We are, at least at this moment, an important part of society. This applies above all to the dialogue between old and young. Soon the “old” will be the majority in our society. A generational change of a special kind is imminent that has never been seen before, with many implications. Scarcity of resources is one of them. Alienation, competition and redistribution are others. New forms of cooperation are becoming more urgent than ever. They must be found and thought out together, for us and our great-great-grandchildren in 100 years’ time. Unexpected opportunities lie ahead of us. A lot is possible. What is at stake?  Growing old in the mirror of youth, also and especially of our inner youth. But not with a transfigured rear-view mirror. To be young, to live and work courageously. To inspire oneself over the generations to enrich our society. Staying connected to our society as a whole through the dialogue of wisdom and youth that is within us all. That is what it is all about!
