Rituals have little place in the consciousness of our companies. Nevertheless, they are practised extensively, although mostly unconsciously: Rituals of security in the company and rituals for rich harvest and prosperity. Rituals mark transitions, bridges. They set structure, provide support and orientation. Especially today, remarkable rituals are fashionable in everyday corporate life to conjure up future prosperity. The world of rituals is as old as mankind. Working with rituals is working with forces: they are supposed to multiply, to be guided or bound in the right direction. Rituals are highly effective interventions, perhaps the most effective of all. If this is the case, why do corporate leaders and owners concern themselves so little with them?
